The benefits of coconut, coconut oil and coconut water

The coconut nut is the fruit of coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) and is found in woody plants and is widespread in the tropics, especially on the coast and islands of the Pacific and the Indian Ocean.

The height of the coconut palm can be 7-30 meters and at its peak is the crown of long feathery leaves, the size of which ranges from 3 to 7 meters.

Coconut’s nut is composed of several layers of which we have external, fibrous, dark brown parts, and the coconut is hard and on the bottom there are three holes.

It is about 5 to 20 centimeters long, and another layer of dense white core is placed inside the dark shell. After the two layers, we come to the coconut cavity in which the liquid is called “coconut milk”.

The coconut is consumed in several forms -raw, milk, water and oil.

Coconut oil, although it is a saturated fat (which is actually a lauric acid) is not bad for the heart.

Coconut oil, unlike other saturated fats, does not contain any cholesterol nor does it affect the increase in blood cholesterol levels. Lauric acid found in coconut oil belongs to the type of fat that the human body quickly absorbs and converts into energy.

This oil also contains minerals such as iron and zinc, due to its composition, the oil is very stable, slowly oxidizes so it has a shelf life longer than other vegetable oils containing high levels of unsaturated fatty acids.

Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, which is a medium chain of fatty acids and this acid is thought to be largely responsible for the positive effects of coconut oil. Coconut oil contains 50% lauric acid, which is also found in breast milk.

The mere comparison of coconut oil with breast milk gives us an idea of how healthy the oil is.

Coconut oil also has antibacterial properties, the lauric acid present in coconut oil, according to some studies, shows significant action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Enterobacter spp.

It has been proven that coconut oil contains phytosterols, which are supposedly responsible for anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties of the oil, so residents of tropics use it to treat burns or damaged or cracked warts in nursing homes.

Virgin coconut oil is a rich source of lauric acid, which if it is biosynthetized in the body turns into a monolaurin-based substance that is effective against lipid viruses, bacteria and fungi.

This oil is considered the “healthiest oil in the world.” It is also one of the best cooking and frying oils due to its unique molecular structure.

With high heat of coconut oil, unlike olive oil preserves all its positivity and food remains delicious.

Coconut oil also helps the thyroid work and can be used to treat or alleviate various health problems, such as hypoglycaemia, joint pain, immune system, low body temperature, obesity, PMS, fluid retention / bloating, heat / cold intolerance, brittle nails, cold hands / feet, depression, irritability, irregular menstruation, fatigue, disturbed sexual urge, etc.

Coconut oil can stimulate the operation of the thyroid gland and increase it by about 20%, thus accelerating the metabolism resulting in weight loss. It has been proven that coconut has an anti-carcinogenic effect and particularly helps in colon cancer and breast cancer.

All of this is due to oil, which thanks to its characteristics, the only cleaning system cleans the body from infections.

Coconut water has become a new sports water. Coconut water is found in the coconut which is still green and should not be mixed with that liquid inside the ripe coconut, since the liquid in mature coconut is water absorbed in the “flesh” of the coconut and so came the appearance of coconut milk.

Consuming coconut water has various advantages, besides being natural contains a small amount of carbohydrates, fats and sugar. Coconut water helps detoxify, combats viruses, cleanses the digestive tract, reduces the risk of cancer, controls diabetes, increases metabolism, and improves weight loss, etc.

It is a natural isotonic drink, which contains the same level of electrolytes as our blood. It contains more nutrients than whole milk and contains less fat and cholesterol, it is healthier than orange juice and has much less calories, better than processed milk for babies because it contains a lauric acid present in breast milk, a universal donor because it is identical to human blood plasma.

This water probably belongs to the best prevention against hangover and it is best to drink a cup or two, it is very desirable to drink a glass of coconut water before going to bed.

Coconut oil can also be used to regulate body weight and constipation, take one teaspoon (15 ml) three times a day, half an hour before eating. In other cases, you can use it at any time of the day, you can apply to the skin or hair.

Do not drink coconut oil marked for massage, because it contains essential oils that are for the smell. Coconut oil can be used for cooking and frying eggs and meat, but you can also add a teaspoon in a cup of coffee or tea.
